Schott's Almanac is the very model of a modern major almanac. Its purpose is to record events of the pas, and announce events yet to come. More Description Schott's Almanac is the very model of a modern major almanac. Its purpose is to record events of the pas, and announce events yet to come. In the modern information age, however, the role of the almanac has changed. Just as c20th almanacs were less concerned with astronomical and ecclesiastical data than their c18th-c19th predecessors, so the c21st almanac has adapted to its time. Schott's Almanac reflects the age in which it is written- an age where information is plentiful, but selection and analysis are more elusive. So, while Schott's Almanac hopes to include all of the essential data one would expect to find in such a volume, it has not gone in search of the chimera of comprehensiveness. Perhaps on contrast to some of its venerable forerunners, Schott's Almanac aspires to provide an intelligent digest of the year's information, rather than reproducing encyclopedic listings.
Schott's is an almanac written to be read.
