This book has to do with the sorrow of a mind who's been scared to open up about thoughts till recent. I personally love writing, I do not know how to express myself any other way than this way. I would always write but just did not have the confidence to display my emotions in the air. I would write about my life and the life of those surrounding me and keep it all in a secreted blog in which I let a few readers see into some of my work, but never really have the courage to expose myself as an author. I came across a poem by the wonderful Nayyirah Waheed and it touched me in such a way I had to write it in my skin forever. After I got it tattooed in my skin, I decided to look into her work. Looking at her work and the way she structured her poems inspired me to publish my work. I never knew someone from the other side of the world would have such similar writing as mine and also write with such ability, it is almost as if you are feeling the pain and the emotion physically as you read her work. I connected instantly back to my work and realized I was not alone nor wrong for writing about deception, anger and happiness all at the same time. So I want to pass her gift which I borrowed to any young writer who is scared to expose their thoughts to the air, anyone who is scared to speak up about their anger with the world, anyone who is an expensive pearl hidden in a clam of intimidation. Do not be intimidated by anyone or anything. Write my friend. The only way we knew about our ancestors was through scriptures that were sculpted so passionately through rocks not even natural disasters were able to stop the legacy from being informed. Let the future know that the world was not perfect from the start and that there will be suffering but there will also be light because that is what life's about. We should all inform the world about the different struggles there is and in the end, you know what is the most wonderful thing about that? That you find out you are not alone here, you find out there is a soul out there that feels the same pain you feel. When you realize that, you will become comforted, you will become tranquil, you will become peace. I hope my writing inspires a lot of you beautiful souls and I also hope a lot of you feel the pain and the light i felt as i wrote every single one of these poems. Enjoy!
