More DescriptionThe Hebrew text of the Bible provides a unified story of Jacob's ancestors and descendants starting with Adam and then proceeding down until their return from exile in Babylon. Hebrew scribes have meticulously preserved the text through the centuries. If you are starting this from this end, then you are starting in the back of the book. Hebrew is read right to left, and so the binding for a Hebrew book will be on the right rather than the left when you place the closed book on the table. This text is based primarily on the Westminster Leningrad Codex version 4.20 provided by the J. Alan Groves Center for Advanced Biblical Research. They have selflessly allowed their work to be used by anyone, for any purpose. This allows the consents, vowels, cantillation marks, and ketiv/qere readings to be accessible to anyone. However, there are some textual features not preserved in the Leningrad Codex, so I have reformatted the text to conform to the known specifications of most printed Hebrew Bibles. All qere readings have been moved to footnotes at the bottom of each page. The ketiv reading have been left without vowels. Chapter numbers and Torah Parshah titles are in square brackets so that the original text layout can be preserved but texts can easily be referenced.
