This book is an adaptation for the written word of a month-long process community conducted by Virginia Satir in Crested Butte, Colorado.  During this workshop, participants are personally transformed by engaging with Satir through having learned and experienced healthy communication methodologies.  In addition to addressing inter-personal communication, during the workshop Satir conducts two family reconstructions.   Though the Satir growth/seed model and other elements of the "Satir process" are explicated at length, this workshop is not principally didactic. It is interactive, provides a lived experience of the Satir model and is deeply spiritual in nature. This book has the potential of being as transformative to the reader as it was for participants in the workshop.
