Author, Eddie D. Sumbler, is a friend of God whose military career has been a defining key in gaining the life and wisdom shared in this guide. After turning down a direct commission into the Army Signal Corps as a Social Worker, Psych Specialty, he later entered Officer Candidate school becoming an Infantry Officer. At the urging of the Holy Spirit, he left active duty for the Army Reserve to attend New Orleans Baptist Seminary. Following seminary, he served as a pastor in Alexandria, Louisiana before heeding the call to return to active duty Military. He stepped into the role of an active duty Chaplain, ultimately deploying to the Gulf War with the 101st Airborne Division as a Battalion Chaplain. The wisdom in this guide is comprised of experience obtained throughout Chaplain Sumbler's career. Chaplain Sumbler considers himself a friend of God, is convinced that his steps are ordered by the Lord and prays that "forever, I only step as He leads.
